Integrity...
SXS Fun in the Snow
What a crazy week we are going into. New president taking office, extreme weather, and a week to make your own changes!
Down here in south Louisiana, we don’t get snow very often and when we do it doesn’t normally stick more than to barely cover the grass. We are looking at 3”-6” of accumulation. It’s definitely going to be interesting if that actually happens down here, all you northern people will get a good laugh out of us doing some pretty redneck stuff I’m sure.
Today is a big day for the country no matter what side of the political spectrum you are on. Trump will be taking office again and supposedly making a bunch of changes to our country very quickly. It matters not if you like him or not, he will be taking over the office today. So hopefully you can be open to the prospect of changes. I am encouraged by the prospect of some positive change for our economy, culture, and hopefully a shift back towards traditional values, which I embrace. I am not looking forward to the hate that man will receive from those who are against him. That does nothing but divide our society and keeps up all from having peace.
We need to get back to having morals again in our country. Look at how things are these days, what is put on TV, the lack of humility, the almost complete absence of integrity, and the complete disregard for authority. If we, as a society, worked on those things, our world would be so much better. I am very big on integrity. My word means something when I say it and everyone who knows me would agree. There are not many people like that in the world these days, although that’s what we need the most.
Do you follow through with what you say? How about with yourself? Do you complete your plans? Reach your goals? I hope so. I have tried to keep integrity as a pillar of who I am over the years, just recently have I started applying it to my own thoughts and plans. I used to think it was only applicable to others, but I am accountable to myself. Once I realized that, I had a lot of work to do. I have completely changed how to operate over the last few months.
I wake up early, I am more involved in my spiritual life, I quit reading and stressing about the news, I started a business, invest in myself whenever I can, and try to be the best husband and father that I can be. Notice what I didn’t say there, I didn’t say anything about social media, my job, my problems, or circumstances. We are good at making excuses about everything, just quit making them. Accept your wins and your failures and move on. Have integrity in everything you do, word you say, and every thought you think. Make that the cornerstone of your personality.
You will be surprised where you will find yourself.
This week stay warm, stay positive, and go get after it!
