Living With The Fear

Who out there lives in fear? There are all kinds of things we can be afraid of, but why do we choose to live in fear? Why do we let fear control us? Why do we fear things in the first place?

I find all kinds of things to be afraid of. It can be anything from a financial decision, to deciding on when and where to go on vacation. Fear is just a part of our lives unfortunately. Fear is good and healthy to have, it can keep you out of trouble or even guide your decision making. It can also be used as a crutch. A lot of times we see our struggles, fears, and hangups as being much bigger than they are.

Have you ever blown any of your circumstances out of proportion? I know I have. The fact of the matter is, everyone has circumstances, everyone has problems, and everyone thinks theirs are the worst ever. Are any of those things true though? I find that I can get out of that fearful, or poor me attitude, by focusing on changing the things I have control over and letting go of the things I can’t control (my circumstances). Doing that takes effort, dedication, and strength. It’s not easy to push through pain to finish a workout, but when you do, you feel great that you accomplished something good. It’s not easy to take on a leadership role at your job. It is much harder overseeing other people than just focusing on your own work, but in the end, you are stronger on the other side of the initial challenges that situation presents. What about stepping out of your comfort zone to help others be their best, or help them solve a problem? Are you comfortable with that?

Doing all these examples just takes one simple step for you to complete them. You must have faith in yourself that you are capable of rising above your own circumstances. Having that belief in yourself is so empowering. Even if you don’t know exactly how to fix the problem or accomplish the task, you can still trust that you will get it done. You just must step out in faith and do it. So many people are terrified to step out and do something that they are not one hundred percent confident in. The main issue with that approach is, you will never grow or get better.

Once you embrace this mentality, you will embrace living with fear instead of being controlled by it. You will be so empowered to remove the limits from your life and start growing in each and every way you can think of.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
