Decision Day…
Decisions shape our lives. Everything requires a decision. What time to wake up? What to wear today? Should I stop and get a donut on the way to work? Decisions are important. Decisions are also necessary.
If we go through life going with the flow, never deciding anything for ourselves, and simply following the crowd, we will not end up in a good place. Unfortunately, our world is filled with lost people and people who don’t have our best interests in mind. The crowd typically stays on the wide road we talked about previously.
Making a decision to do what is right, no matter what, is the single best decision you can make. That will ensure you live your life full of integrity. It will also guarantee that you will live a life of constant self-improvement, making each day better than the one before it.
That decision is also the hardest one to make. Some decisions give you an out for when things get hard, but this one does not. That is the point. To live a life of integrity and make every day better will change you, the people around you, and even the environment around you for the better. You will still have struggles at times, but you will be making them better every day.
Being indecisive will keep you held down in a rut, and you will feel stuck with no way out. The environment around you will eventually fester and become something that feels like a straitjacket with no way out.
Choose life, choose greatness, and decide to make your life the best it can be.
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.”
James 1:5-8 NLT
