Precision…
This word has been on my heart all week. The word precision. It is not new to me by any means. I have been a machinist for over 20 years; I am used to making precision things. That isn’t what I’ve been thinking about though. It’s been how to live your life with precision.
That can mean a bunch of different things. Efficiency, integrity, productive, wholesome, successful are all words that come to my mind, but I think it also means something else. It means living life on the narrow road.
““You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14 NLT
Living life on the narrow road is tough. It requires diligence and discipline. It requires intentionality. It requires giving up control.
All of those things are tough for me when we are talking about life. I am pretty good at avoiding the big mistakes in life, but I struggle with all the little decisions. The things that seem innocent on its own, but when you add a bunch together, it creates a monster. Those are the things that widen the road I’m on.
I am working on being more intentional with my life, really focusing on what is important, and letting go of what isn’t. Focusing on the things I can control and simply praying about the ones I can’t. If you have been reading my posts the last few weeks, I’m sure you could tell I have been in a funk. This past week has given me a new vision for my life and I’m working towards making it my new reality.
This week I encourage you to work on the things that are widening your road and focus on living your life with precision.
