Turmoil
Ever felt like your life is a whirlwind? Have you felt like you were supposed to do something but didn’t? Speak up and chose not to? Or even just felt lost? That is inner turmoil, and I’m sure we all experience it at times.
I’ve been fighting doing certain things for years. I made every excuse in the book and even said it was not for me. I will procrastinate to avoid the uncomfortable truths sometimes. Today, I finally got baptized. I fulfilled something I felt I should have done many years ago but chose to resist instead. I caused myself so much chaos in my mind and spirt for years. It kept me from truly living to my potential.
It’s only day one, but I felt so free when I emerged from that water. I felt happy, I felt loved. It was something I have never experienced before. I am looking forward to what is ahead for me and my family.
I realize your turmoil is most likely something very different from mine, that’s ok. I would advise you to quit putting it off and make a decision to do what you need to do, whatever it takes, and to quit overthinking different scenarios in your mind.
Inner turmoil can be crippling when left unchecked. Do not let it consume you the way I did.
“Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.”
Proverbs 15:16 NLT
